While attending Windward Community College I was a staff writer for the award-winning student published newspaper Ka 'Ohana. I had the opportunity to write about a variety of topics ranging from campus events to international news. At the University of Missouri-Kansas City I spent a semester as a staff writer for the independent student newspaper U-News. While on the U-News staff I wrote articles for print and co-produced vox-pop videos for the newspaper's website. After graduating from UMKC I interned at KCUR 89.3 as a producer for their public affairs talk show. I was tasked with writing for on-air and their website, as well as audio mixing. After completing my internship, I was hired by KCUR as a contract employee and then full-time.

As a producer for Up To Date, my goal is to inform our audience by curating interesting and important conversations with reliable sources and individuals directly affected by a topic or issue. I strive for our program to be a place that hosts impactful conversations, providing our audience with greater knowledge, intrigue, compassion and entertainment.
My daily duties consist of researching and pitching segment ideas to my team. With each approved segment I find experts and compelling guests, conduct pre-interviews and write questions for the on-air host.
During the live show I take turns welcoming and seating guests, directing and coordinating between the host and board operator, and screening calls.
Post show I voice track and mix audio for podcasting.
